Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that it is in the public interest to do so, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance and the Treasury Board, pursuant to subsection 23(2.1)a of the Financial Administration Act, hereby makes the annexed Order Respecting the Remission of Equalization Overpayments Made to Certain Provinces under the Federal-Provincial Fiscal Arrangements Act.aS.C. 1991, c. 24, s. 7(2)Remission

1Remission is hereby granted to the province set out in column 1 of the Schedule for the amount set out in column 2 in respect of equalization overpayments made by the Government of Canada under the Federal-Provincial Fiscal Arrangements Act, for the fiscal years beginning April 1, 1993 and ending March 31, 2001, by reason of the overstatement of the amount of mutual fund trust capital gains refunds in the calculation of equalization payments.
