(<DefinedTermFr>aéroport</DefinedTermFr>)</Text></Definition><Definition lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976487" lims:id="976487" generate-in-text="no"><Text><DefinedTermEn>airport zoning reference point</DefinedTermEn> means the point described in Part I of the schedule; (<DefinedTermFr>point de repère du zonage de l’aéroport</DefinedTermFr>)</Text></Definition><Definition lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976488" lims:id="976488" generate-in-text="no"><Text><DefinedTermEn>approach surface</DefinedTermEn> means an imaginary inclined plane that extends upward and outward from each end of a strip and that is more particularly described in Part III of the schedule; (<DefinedTermFr>surface d’approche</DefinedTermFr>)</Text></Definition><Definition lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976489" lims:id="976489" generate-in-text="no"><Text><DefinedTermEn>outer surface</DefinedTermEn> means an imaginary surface that is located above and in the immediate vicinity of the airport and that is more particularly described in Part V of the schedule, the outer limits of which are more particularly described in Part VI of the schedule; (<DefinedTermFr>surface extérieure</DefinedTermFr>)</Text></Definition><Definition lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976490" lims:id="976490" generate-in-text="no"><Text><DefinedTermEn>strip</DefinedTermEn> means the rectangular portion of the landing area of the airport, including the runway, that is prepared for the take-off and landing of aircraft in a particular direction and that is more particularly described in Part II of the schedule; (<DefinedTermFr>bande</DefinedTermFr>)</Text></Definition><Definition lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976491" lims:id="976491" generate-in-text="no"><Text><DefinedTermEn>transitional surface</DefinedTermEn> means an imaginary inclined plane that extends upward and outward from the lateral limits of a strip and its approach surfaces and that is more particularly described in Part IV of the schedule. (<DefinedTermFr>surface de transition</DefinedTermFr>)</Text></Definition></Subsection><Subsection lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976492" lims:id="976492"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>For the purposes of these Regulations, the elevation of the airport zoning reference point is 25 m above sea level.</Text></Subsection></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976493" lims:id="976493" level="1"><TitleText>Application</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:lastAmendedDate="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976494" lims:id="976494"><Label>3</Label><Text>These Regulations apply in respect of all lands, including public road allowances, that are adjacent to or in the vicinity of the airport, the outer limits of which lands are described in Part VII of the schedule, other than the lands that from time to time form part of the airport.</Text></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976495" lims:id="976495" level="1"><TitleText>General</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:lastAmendedDate="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976496" lims:id="976496"><Label>4</Label><Text>No person shall erect or construct on any land in respect of which these Regulations apply any building, structure or object, or any addition to any existing building, structure or object, the highest point of which will exceed in elevation any of the following surfaces that extend over the land on which the building, structure or object is situated, namely:</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976497" lims:id="976497"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>an approach surface;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976498" lims:id="976498"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>the outer surface; or</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976499" lims:id="976499"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>a transitional surface.</Text></Paragraph></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976500" lims:id="976500" level="1"><TitleText>Natural Growth</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:lastAmendedDate="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976501" lims:id="976501"><Label>5</Label><Text>No owner or lessee of any lands in respect of which these Regulations apply shall permit an object of natural growth on those lands to exceed in elevation any of the surfaces set out in paragraphs 4(a) to (c).</Text></Section><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976502" lims:id="976502" level="1"><TitleText>Bird Hazards</TitleText></Heading><Section lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:lastAmendedDate="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976503" lims:id="976503"><Label>6</Label><Text>In order to minimize bird hazards to aviation, no owner or lessee of any lands in respect of which these Regulations apply shall permit those lands or any part thereof to be used as a site for</Text><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976504" lims:id="976504"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>a sanitary land fill;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976505" lims:id="976505"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>a food garbage disposal site;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976506" lims:id="976506"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>a sewage lagoon; or</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976507" lims:id="976507"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>an open water storage reservoir.</Text></Paragraph></Section></Body><Schedule lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:lastAmendedDate="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976508" lims:id="976508" bilingual="no" spanlanguages="no"><ScheduleFormHeading lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976509" lims:id="976509"><Label>SCHEDULE</Label><OriginatingRef>(Sections 2 and 3)</OriginatingRef></ScheduleFormHeading><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976510" lims:id="976510" level="1"><Label>PART I</Label><TitleText>Description of the Airport Zoning Reference Point</TitleText></Heading><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976511" lims:id="976511" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>The airport zoning reference point is a point located at the intersection of the centre line projection of runway 13-31 and the westerly end of the strip associated with the approach surface to runway 13. The reference point has Nova Scotia Grid Co-ordinates with a Northing of 4 982 711.68 m and an Easting of 5 465 850.41 m and is shown on Public Works Canada Greenwood Airport Zoning Plan No. S-1750, dated November 15, 1988.</Text></Provision><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976512" lims:id="976512" level="1"><Label>PART II</Label><TitleText>Description of the Strips</TitleText></Heading><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976513" lims:id="976513" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>Each strip is described as follows:</Text><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976514" lims:id="976514" format-ref="indent-1-1" language-align="no" list-item="no"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>the strip associated with runway 13-31 is 300 m in width, 150 m being on each side of the centre line of the runway, and 2 554.7 m in length;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976515" lims:id="976515" format-ref="indent-1-1" language-align="no" list-item="no"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>the strip associated with runway 08-26 is 300 m in width, 150 m being on each side of the centre line of the runway, and 2 552.4 m in length; and</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976516" lims:id="976516" format-ref="indent-1-1" language-align="no" list-item="no"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>the strip associated with runway 01-19 is 150 m in width, 75 m being on each side of the centre line of the runway, and 1 330.7 m in length,</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976517" lims:id="976517" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="no" list-item="no"><Text>which strips are shown on Public Works Canada Greenwood Airport Zoning Plan S-1750, dated November 15, 1988.</Text></Provision></Provision><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976518" lims:id="976518" level="1"><Label>PART III</Label><TitleText>Description of the Approach Surfaces</TitleText></Heading><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976519" lims:id="976519" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>The approach surfaces, shown on Public Works Canada Greenwood Airport Zoning Plan No. S-1750, dated November 15, 1988, are imaginary surfaces that abut each end of the strips associated with runways 08-26, 13-31, and 01-19, and that are more particularly described as follows:</Text><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976520" lims:id="976520" format-ref="indent-1-1" language-align="no" list-item="no"><Label>(a)</Label><Text>a surface that abuts the end of the strip associated with runway 13 and consists of an inclined plane having a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 60 m measured horizontally rising to an intersection with the outer surface; thence the approach surface slopes upward at a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 50 m measured horizontally rising to an imaginary horizontal line drawn at right angles to the projected centre line of the strip and at a distance of 15 000 m measured horizontally from the end of the strip, the outer ends of the imaginary horizontal line being 2 400 m from the projected centre line, the imaginary horizontal line being 291 m measured vertically above the assigned elevation at the end of the strip;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976521" lims:id="976521" format-ref="indent-1-1" language-align="no" list-item="no"><Label>(b)</Label><Text>a surface that abuts the end of the strip associated with runway 31 and consists of an inclined plane having a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 60 m measured horizontally rising to an intersection with the outer surface; thence the approach surface slopes upward at a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 50 m measured horizontally rising to an imaginary horizontal line drawn at right angles to the projected centre line of the strip and at a distance of 15 000 m measured horizontally from the end of the strip, the outer ends of the imaginary horizontal line being 2 400 m from the projected centre line, the imaginary horizontal line being 291.6 m measured vertically above the assigned elevation at the end of the strip;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976522" lims:id="976522" format-ref="indent-1-1" language-align="no" list-item="no"><Label>(c)</Label><Text>a surface that abuts the end of the strip associated with runway 08 and consists of an inclined plane having a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 60 m measured horizontally rising to an intersection with the outer surface; thence the approach surface slopes upward at a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 50 m measured horizontally rising to an imaginary horizontal line drawn at right angles to the projected centre line of the strip and at a distance of 15 000 m measured horizontally from the end of the strip, the outer ends of the imaginary horizontal line being 2 400 m from the projected centre line, the imaginary horizontal line being 291.2 m measured vertically above the assigned elevation at the end of the strip;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976523" lims:id="976523" format-ref="indent-1-1" language-align="no" list-item="no"><Label>(d)</Label><Text>a surface that abuts the end of the strip associated with runway 26 and consists of an inclined plane having a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 60 m measured horizontally rising to an intersection with the outer surface; thence the approach surface slopes upward at a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 50 m measured horizontally rising to an imaginary horizontal line drawn at right angles to the projected centre line of the strip and at a distance of 15 000 m measured horizontally from the end of the strip, the outer ends of the imaginary horizontal line being 2 400 m from the projected centre line, the imaginary horizontal line being 291.2 m measured vertically above the assigned elevation at the end of the strip;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976524" lims:id="976524" format-ref="indent-1-1" language-align="no" list-item="no"><Label>(e)</Label><Text>a surface that abuts the end of the strip associated with runway 01 and consists of an inclined plane having a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 40 m measured horizontally rising to an imaginary horizontal line drawn at right angles to the projected centre line of the strip and at a distance of 3 000 m measured horizontally from the end of the strip, the outer ends of the imaginary horizontal line being 525 m from the projected centre line, the imaginary horizontal line being 75 m measured vertically above the assigned elevation at the end of the strip; and</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976525" lims:id="976525" format-ref="indent-1-1" language-align="no" list-item="no"><Label>(f)</Label><Text>a surface that abuts the end of the strip associated with runway 19 and consists of an inclined plane having a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 40 m measured horizontally rising to an imaginary horizontal line drawn at right angles to the projected centre line of the strip and at a distance of 3 000 m measured horizontally from the end of the strip, the outer ends of the imaginary horizontal line being 525 m from the projected centre line, the imaginary horizontal line being 75 m measured vertically above the assigned elevation at the end of the strip.</Text></Provision></Provision><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976526" lims:id="976526" level="1"><Label>PART IV</Label><TitleText>Description of the Transitional Surfaces</TitleText></Heading><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976527" lims:id="976527" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>Each transitional surface, shown on Public Works Canada Greenwood Airport Zoning Plan No. S-1750, dated November 15, 1988, is an inclined plane that rises at a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 7 m measured horizontally at right angles to the centre line of a strip and that extends upward and outward from the lateral limits of the strip and its approach surfaces to an intersection with the outer surface or the transitional surface of an adjoining strip.</Text></Provision><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976528" lims:id="976528" level="1"><Label>PART V</Label><TitleText>Description of the Outer Surface</TitleText></Heading><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976529" lims:id="976529" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>The outer surface, shown on Public Works Canada Greenwood Airport Zoning Plan No. S-1750, dated November 15, 1988, is an imaginary surface that consists of a common plane established at a constant elevation of 45 m above the elevation of the airport zoning reference point, except that, where that common plane is less than 9 m above the surface of the ground, the imaginary surface is located at 9 m above the surface of the ground.</Text></Provision><Heading lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976530" lims:id="976530" level="1"><Label>PART VI</Label><TitleText>Description of the Outer Limits of the Outer Surface</TitleText></Heading><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976531" lims:id="976531" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>Commencing at the point of intersection of the northerly limit of the approach surface to runway 13, with the arc of a circle having a radius of 4 000 m, the centre of the circle being located at the mid-point of the westerly end of runway 13-31;</Text><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976532" lims:id="976532" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence following the arc to the right a distance of 2 288.12 m to a point;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976533" lims:id="976533" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence on an azimuth of 59°09′40″, a distance of 1 164.19 m to a point;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976534" lims:id="976534" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence following the arc of a circle to the right a distance of 1 395.30 m to a point, the circle having a radius of 4 000 m with the centre of the circle being located at the mid-point of the northerly end of runway 01-19;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976535" lims:id="976535" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence on an azimuth of 79°08′50″, a distance of 1 189.51 m to a point;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976536" lims:id="976536" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence following the arc of a circle to the right a distance of 6 574.04 m to a point, the circle having a radius of 4 000 m with the centre of the circle being located at the mid-point of the easterly end of runway 08-26;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976537" lims:id="976537" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence on an azimuth of 173°18′48″, a distance of 1 496.22 m to a point;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976538" lims:id="976538" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence following the arc of a circle to the right a distance of 6 984.27 m to a point, the circle having a radius of 4 000 m with the centre of the circle being located at the mid-point of the easterly end of runway 13-31;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976539" lims:id="976539" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence on an azimuth of 273°21′21″, a distance of 1 148.97 m to a point;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976540" lims:id="976540" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence following the arc of a circle to the right a distance of 963.59 m to a point, the circle having a radius of 4 000 m, with the centre of the circle being located at the mid-point of the southerly end of runway 01-19;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976541" lims:id="976541" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence on an azimuth of 287°09′29″, a distance of 1 283.05 m to a point;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976542" lims:id="976542" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence following the arc of a circle to the right a distance of 5 644.76 m to a point, the circle having a radius of 4 000 m, with the centre of the circle being located at the mid-point of the westerly end of runway 08-26;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976543" lims:id="976543" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence on an azimuth of 08°00′48″, a distance of 221.67 m to a point;</Text></Provision><Provision lims:inforce-start-date="2006-03-22" lims:fid="976544" lims:id="976544" format-ref="indent-0-0" language-align="yes" list-item="no"><Text>thence following the arc of a circle to the right a distance of 1 282.66 m to the point of commencement, the circle having a radius of 4 000 m, with the
