AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS MARKETING ACT

Order Granting Authority to Regulate the Marketing in Interprovincial and Export Trade of Broiler Chickens Produced in Saskatchewan

Short Title

 This Order may be cited as the Saskatchewan Broiler Chicken Order.

Interpretation

 In this Order,

Act

Act means The Natural Products Marketing Act of Saskatchewan; (Loi)

broiler chicken

broiler chicken means a chicken

  • (a) produced from the egg of a domestic hen other than a chicken grown to a live weight of more than 5 1/2 pounds or to an age of more than six months,

  • (b) not raised or used for egg production, and

  • (c) produced by a licensed producer; (poulet à griller)

Commodity Board

Commodity Board means the Saskatchewan Broiler Chicken Producers’ Marketing Board established pursuant to the Act; (Office de commercialisation)

Plan

Plan means the Saskatchewan Broiler Chicken Producers’ Marketing Plan established by Order 587/66 of March 18, 1966 made by the Lieutenant Governor in Council of Saskatchewan pursuant to the Act. (Plan)

Interprovincial and Export Trade

 The Commodity Board is authorized to regulate the marketing of broiler chickens in interprovincial and export trade and for such purposes may, with respect to persons and property situated within the Province of Saskatchewan, exercise all or any powers like the powers exercisable by it in relation to the marketing of broiler chickens locally within that Province under sections 2 and 22 of the Plan, excepting the powers exercisable under paragraphs 22(j) and (k) of the Plan.
